Week #41

 Hello,
Well this week we had the opportunity to do service... twice... in one week. That is pretty rare here so it was good. The first one was we helped one of our ward members clean up this little storage shed thing next to his house. It was super hot outside and there was just a ton of random stuff in the shed and then a bunch of hay that we had to clear out. And as we were clearing some of it out we found 7 baby rats. The other service was setting up for a wedding reception of somebody in our ward. I am nowhere near as good of a decorator as my mom but I think we did a pretty good job. (I will provide pictures of both of the services)

Also this week me and Elder Huang started doing this thing sometimes called explore tracting. It is where you pick an area to tract, and then after you tract that area you kind of just keep walking down different alleys and stuff and you tract along the way. The first time we did it was on Monday and after we had explored quite a while, this guy let us in to his house. He was Buddhist, but he let us come in and talk to him about God. So we taught him about God and our relationship with him, and also about prayer. He wasn't like super Golden or anything, but you could really feel the Spirit, and he said we could come back next week.

Then the second time we did explore tracting we tracted into this guy who was probably about 24 years old, and there was a huge Buddhist alter in his house (which is usually not a good sign), but he just let us right in. We were talking to him and he told us that he lives with his parents and grandparents, who are all very Buddhist. But his mom and grandparents were gone and his dad was asleep (HUGE MIRACLE). He  let us sit down with him and at one point he asked us if it was really hard to find people willing to talk to you because everyone is either Buddhist or Daoist. So we talked to him about how although it is hard, we know that this is God's message and he wants all of his children to hear it. And then he said "well you can talk to me, I am willing to listen." So we taught him about the Godhead and prayer. He really liked the concept of prayer, because he said that in Buddhism the only time that they pray or worship is when they need help, but he liked how we could pray anytime, anywhere, and under any circumstances. He was super awesome and he was curious about why our church name was 後期(latter-days) so we introduced the Restoration a little bit and he was excited to learn more. Right now he is doing his military service up in Taipei, but he ends in about 40 days. Since we had walked a little ways to get to his house, we walked back to our bikes to get some pamphlets for him that he could read while he is in Taipei, and when we got back his mom and grandparents were back. They were really nice but they probably would have rejected us if they answered the door so it really was a huge miracle.

We met with Rose-fel and Aldrine again this week and they accepted a baptismal goal for May 20. And also our investigator Huang came to church again this week. She loves it and the members love her, and she accepted our invitation and has been reading the Book of Mormon everyday. So hopefully when we meet with her this week she will accept a baptismal goal.

I hope everybody has a good week. Love you all!
